Melissa Forrester, DVM

Melissa Forrester, DVM

Title: Owner and Veterinarian: Dr. Forrester has a well rounded set of skills and experience with special interest in internal medicine, ultrasound, dentistry, and surgery.  She is passionate about education, and approaches her patients with an emphasis on care for their entire well-being.  Dr. Forrester's passion for high quality medicine and customer service are the cornerstone of what is special about Southeast Alabama Veterinary Hospital.

Education:  Dr. Forrester has a BA in Anthropology from Sewanee, and is a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Bio: Dr. Forrester is married to Jared and they are the proud parents of two children: Carl and Claire and many furry children.

Professional Interests: dentistry, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, ultrasound

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH:  Making a difference in the owner's and patient's lives by solving a challenging case, and watching the animal get better.

Hobbies: Volleyball, tennis, crafts, fishing, boating, college football

Jamie Jones, MS, DVM

 Jamie Jones, MS, DVM

Title:  Associate Veterinarian- Dr. Jones is the model of compassionate, professional veterinary care. She approaches each patient with a determination, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness that allows her to provide the highest quality care to our patients.

Bio: Dr. Jones has been working at SEAVH since December 2012.  She lives in Dothan with her husband, Phillip, and her spunky daughter, Sutton

Education: B.S. Biological Psychology- The College of William and Mary 1999, M.S. Animals and Public Policy- Tufts University 2004, DVM-High Honors- University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Pets: Emmett-the cat

Hobbies: Sewing, Crafting, Writing, and Sports

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: Educating clients about their furry family members.  A well informed client is the best advocate for their animal's health and welfare!  And of course, taking care of all our sweet and adorable patients. 


Charlsie Coe, DVM

Title: Associate Veterinarian- Dr. Coe works part time with us at SEAVH

Bio: Dr. Coe is married to Brad and they have three children, Chapman, Betsy, and Florrie

Education: Dr. Coe has a BS in Zoology from Auburn University and is a 2009 graduate from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine

Hobbies: Cooking, gardening, and traveling


Meagan Coleman, DVM

Title: Associate Veterinarian

Bio: Dr. Coleman hails from Mississippi and recently moved to Dothan with her  husband, Tony, and our fur children.

Education: Dr. Coleman is Mississippi native and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences from Mississippi State University. She  remained at MSU for veterinary school, and  recently graduated in May 2022 as a Giles Scholar. 

Pets: 3 cats (Cinder, Felix, and Franklin)

Hobbies: Spending time outdoors, fishing, kayaking, reading, watching college football, and visiting with family and friends

Michelle Jordan

Title: Receptionist Michelle is a multi-tasking dynamo!  She is the lead receptionist, and provides amazing attention and personalized customer service to all of our patients and clients. She is extremely organized and incredibly knowledgeable.  She is an invaluable asset to our team.  Michelle has worked in the veterinary field for 25+ years 

Bio: Michelle lives in Ashford with her Husband, Nick.  Michelle is a mother and a proud grandmother to Henry.

Hobbies: Going to the beach, spending time with her grandson, Henry, and shopping for shoes.

Pets: Cats; Hitler, Lucy, Norman, and Tiny

Sherie Suss

Sherie Suss

Title: Veterinary Receptionist  She always brings a fun and enthusiastic attitude to the hospital. She provides wonderful customer service with a smile and a helping hand. Sherie also takes advantage of many continuing education opportunities to expand her knowledge of veterinary medicine.

Bio: Sherie has been married to her husband, Glen for 35 years.  They have 2 kids and 5 grandkids, and soon to have a great grandchild.  Sherie has beeN in the veterinary field for 18 years in various different positions.

Hobbies: Reading, puzzles, horseback riding, most of all singing

Pets: Labrador Sadie and 3 legged bundle of energy, Remi

Nancy Brown

Nancy is a sweet and funny lady, with an incredibly infectious laugh.  She is efficient and caring and is eager to help clients any way she can

Technicians/Assistants

Brandi Cook

Brandi Cook

Title: Veterinary Assistant- Brandi is an incredibly versatile member of our team- She assists in all aspects of practice, and is also responsible for maintaining our pet portal site, special order drugs, staff scheduling, and payroll. She is amazing at anticipating what needs to be done, and provides great support to the whole team.

Bio: Brandi has worked in the veterinary field since she was 14 years old.  Brandi has been married to Gail Raye for over 10 years, and they have a handsome little boy, Graham, who is the light of their lives, and keeps them on their toes  with his infectious, high energy personality

Hobbies: Travel, movies, and spending time with family and friends, watching college football, and making memories with family and friends

Pets:  Lexie, Tesla, Monkey, Marley, Monster

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: She loves taking care of the animals, and loves when we can help a sick animal and return them back to a happy owner.  She also really loves the challenging case where the diagnosis is not readily apparent-when we have to work hard to find the diagnosis and correct treatment.  She feels like this job is so rewarding in so many ways. 


Amber Shepherd

Bio: Amber has been in the veterinary field since 2005.  She is kind and compassionate and really loves to help clients and their sweet furbabies.Amber has a daughter and enjoys time outside hiking.

Tracy Todd

Title: Veterinary Assistant: Tracy is a veteran in the field, and she has so much experience and expertise to share. She has a calmness and soothing demeanor that makes her a joy to be around. 

Joined Team: March 2022

Pets: Tracy shares her life and heart with a menagerie of "four-leggers", from 4lbs to 100lbs. She has a Poodle, "Elvis", who is her heart, and two  puppies that stole her  heart, at first sight, and she has gladly let them keep it. She affectionately, refers to the dogs as the "Canine Coalition" and the cats as the "Feline Federation".

Hobbies: Tracy says, "I love a good book or an old movie. I, personally, believe that if all ladies would pick a husband that fits Gene Kelly's profile, we would all be happy women."

Favorite Thing about working at SEAVH: I truly love medicine. I am amazed by the intricacies of how the body works. Animals and humans are not that different.


GAGE WEEKS

Title: Veterinary Assistant: Gage is a great assistant that has experience in both surgery and preventative care. She has an easy going personality, and makes the work environment fun.

MICHELLE BOWDOIN

Title: Veterinary Technician: Michelle is a confident very capable licensed technician. She has many years of experience and she uses that experience to help her patients and co-workers in all aspects of the job.

BIO: Michelle has worked in the veterinary field for the past 19 years. She began her career at the Wiregrass Humane Society. She instantly knew that was what she was meant to do. She earned her license in Veterinary Technology in 2013. She is married to Matt, and they absolutely adore their precious son, Luke

Pets: dog:Skyler, cats: Twanda, Gus, hermit crab:Brutus and 2 fish

Hobbies: Michelle enjoys going to the movies and anything to do with the water (beach, river or pool) 


LORI ASSELIN

Title: Office Assistant: Lori helps out with the day to day tasks of the hospital. She performs her tasks with precision and consistency. She has a quick wit and is a lot of fun to be around 

Bio: Lori is married to Clint, and has two daughters and a grandson

Pets: 2 dogs, Jarvis and Loki

Hobbies: Lori likes to read, enjoys gardening, and loves scary movies


KARRIGAN DICKERSON

Title: Veterinary Assistant: Kerrigan is calm and is an excellent handler of patients. She is learning and acquiring new skills every day.  She is a quick learner and has become a great asset to the team.
